Golden rule
Never send money before confirming the property exists and verifying the identity and authority of the person receiving payment. Legitimate professionals will never pressure you to pay a deposit before you have seen the property (in person or on a live video tour) and reviewed a written agreement.
On the platform
Look for the Identity Verified, Professional Verified, and Property Verified badges. Verification is a real review process performed by our team — badges cannot be self-assigned.
Keep conversations inside DRApartmentFinder messaging when possible; it creates a record we can act on if something goes wrong.
Red flags
- Prices dramatically below similar homes in the same area
- Requests for wire transfers, gift cards, or crypto payments
- A lister who is “abroad” and cannot show the property
- Pressure to decide immediately
- Refusal to provide identity or ownership documentation
Report it
Every listing has a Report action. Reports go straight to our moderation team, and repeated or serious reports suspend the listing automatically while we review it.
